<p class="MsoNoSpacing"><b>MANGAN, (IPR):</b><span style="font-family:"Bookman Old Style",serif"> In order to provide a safe location and a place of dwelling to those residents who were displaced by recent landslides and after huge cracks that developed due to the after effects of flash floods, 20 families were allocated temporary shelters today. The residents belong to the regions of Toong, Rel and Naga wards under Toong-Naga GPU. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:"Bookman Old Style",serif">It may be mentioned that this has come into effect after the order of DM, Mangan under Section 34 of Disaster Management Act. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:"Bookman Old Style",serif">These 20 families consisting of 87 persons were allocated temporary shelter at Singhik Tourist Lodge, under Tourism department. Officials of Forest department supervised the cleaning and cleared the tourist lodge complex, ensuring hygiene and safe environment for the residents. Power department is supplying proper lighting for the convenience and comfort while PHE has ensured uninterrupted water supply. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:"Bookman Old Style",serif">Mangan BAC has been assigned with the overall management and allocation with help and assistance from panchayats of the three wards. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:"Bookman Old Style",serif">The allocation order to these displaced families were handed over by Social Welfare minister-cum-area MLA Samdup Lepcha. The minister assured the residents that the government with assistance from the district administration would leave no stone unturned in providing a permanent solution in the near future. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p> </p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:"Bookman Old Style",serif">Present at the site were Mangan DM Anant Jain, SP Sonam Detchu Bhutia, Mangan BDO and overall in-charge of the temporary shelter at Singhik Tourist Lodge, Kailash Thapa, DDMA deputy director Karma Dorjee, panchayat members of Toong Naga, president and members of Singhik Sentam, president of Rimghim-Nampathan GPU and other officials of line departments.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
