International Literature Festival on Oct 26-27 in Gangtok

<p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Book Antiqua&quot;,serif"><b>GANGTOK,: </b>The rescheduled International Literature Festival being organised by Soreng-based Pari Prakashan literary body is being held at Manan Kendra, Gangtok on October 26 and 27.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Book Antiqua&quot;,serif">Nepali litterateurs and literary organisations from Sikkim, Assam, Darjeeling hills, Dooars and other parts of India along with prominent literary figures from Nepal are attending the two-day event.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Book Antiqua&quot;,serif">The International Literature Festival was originally scheduled last month but was postponed as heavy rains disrupted the NH 10 and inter-State highways in Sikkim.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Book Antiqua&quot;,serif">Pari Prakashan vice president Sonam Dong, editor Dr Ranta Bahadur Rasaily and co-editor Dr Krishna Sapkota announced the new dates for the literature festival at a press meet here on Saturday.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Book Antiqua&quot;,serif">It was informed that the two-day event would stick to the original programme which includes discussions on Nepali language and literature, presentation of Pari Purashkars and other literary engagements. Language experts and literary figures would deliberate over the contemporary use of Nepali language and literature, its status and influence on the present generation.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Book Antiqua&quot;,serif">Students from colleges and universities have been invited to attend this particular engagement so they can benefit from the experienced talks of the panellists.
