Sikkim CM attends Himalayan Folk Festival

<p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Book Antiqua&quot;,serif"><b>SILIGURI, (IPR):</b> Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang attended the Himalayan Folk Festival in Siliguri today. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Book Antiqua&quot;,serif">The three-day celebration of ethnic music, culture and heritage saw performance of varied artists. The event was a finale of the three months long Pan Himalayan Ethnic Singing Competition where Soney Toto from Totopara, West Bengal was the winner. Phutti Sherpa from Ilam, Nepal was first runner-up and Sarnu Ram from Himachal Pradesh was second runner-up. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Book Antiqua&quot;,serif">During the event, the Chief Minister released the book ‘Mouri’ by late Abhi Chandra Mothay. An introduction of concept of the CM (audio video) ‘Mero Rukh Mero Santati‘ was also made during the course of the event.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Book Antiqua&quot;,serif">The ‘Warnamala Pariwar’ took this opportunity to felicitate Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, Ugen Chopel, Mohan Rai, Thendup Norbu, Garjan Kumar Mallik, Narendra Kumar Tamang, Ramesh Chettri, Bikey Pradhan, Matt Keegan and singers from Warnamala Pariwar.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Book Antiqua&quot;,serif">Deoashish Mothey, the founder of Warnamala Pariwar, member of cross-cultural ‘The Three Seas’ band and the organiser of The Himalayan Folk Festival thanked the Chief Minister for his guidance and support and for encouraging the event.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p> </p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>
