Grand welcome for Joshan Rai after promoting Sikkim across India

<p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Bookman Old Style&quot;,serif"><b>RANGPO,: </b>Motivated by the realization that even after 50 years of Sikkim's merger with India, many people across different States and regions of the country are still unaware of where Sikkim is located or which part of India it belongs to, young Joshan Rai, a resident of Kumrek under the West Pandam Constituency, undertook a hitchhiking (travelling by seeking rides) and backpacking journey across all 28 Indian states to promote Sikkim's identity nationwide. He returned to his home State of Sikkim on Wednesday.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Bookman Old Style&quot;,serif">During his journey, Rai interacted with people from different States, sharing information about Sikkim's geographical location, culture, tourism, and unique identity. The primary objective of his campaign was to establish a stronger national awareness and recognition of Sikkim.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Bookman Old Style&quot;,serif">On his return, the Kumrek Kursha Sudhar Samiti Samaj organized a special welcome ceremony in his honour. He was felicitated with a traditional khada, flower garlands, and a memento. The event was attended by Ward Panchayat Dik Bahadur Bhujel, Samiti president JB Basnet, committee members, and local youths.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Bookman Old Style&quot;,serif">Addressing the gathering, Samaj president JB Basnet said that Joshan Rai had brought recognition not only to Kumrek but to the entire State of Sikkim through his remarkable initiative.
