CM congratulates Milan Kumar Subba on appointment as SPSC chairman

<p class="MsoNoSpacing"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:&quot;Bookman Old Style&quot;,serif">GANGTOK,:</span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:&quot;Bookman Old Style&quot;,serif"> Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Saturday congratulated Milan Kumar Subba on his appointment as the new chairman of Sikkim Public Service Commission (SPSC).<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:&quot;Bookman Old Style&quot;,serif">In a Facebook post, the Chief Minister said leading the “prestigious institution” was a great honour and responsibility and expressed confidence that under Subba’s leadership, the Commission would continue to uphold the highest standards of merit, transparency, fairness and integrity in public service.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:&quot;Bookman Old Style&quot;,serif">Subba, a retired Sikkim State General Service officer and former member of the SPSC, has been appointed chairman for a six-year term, according to a State government notification issued recently. He succeeds Kuldip Chettri.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:&quot;Bookman Old Style&quot;,serif">Subba had been serving as an SPSC member for about a year before being elevated to the top post.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:&quot;Bookman Old Style&quot;,serif">The SPSC conducts examinations and recruits candidates for various State government services and civil posts in Sikkim.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p> </p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:&quot;Bookman Old Style&quot;,serif">A resident of Rumbuk in Soreng district, Subba retired as Excise secretary in May 2025.
