Samdong school students embark on National Integration Tour under Operation Sadbhavana

<p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Garamond&quot;,serif"><b>GANGTOK,:</b> Thirteen students and two teachers from PM Shri Senior Secondary School, Samdong, embarked on a National Integration Tour (NIT) today, organised by the Indian Army under Operation Sadbhavana 2026-27, with support from the Sikkim Vir Gorkha Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association (SVGESWA).<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Garamond&quot;,serif">The eight-day tour, from October 1 to 8, will cover Gangtok, Bengaluru, Mysuru and Coimbatore, with a stop in Kolkata on the return journey. The tour aims to provide students exposure to different parts of the country while promoting national integration, cultural understanding and educational awareness.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Garamond&quot;,serif">Principal Pradeep Sharma said the school was selected for the National Integration Tour this year, providing 13 students and two teachers the opportunity to participate in the programme.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Garamond&quot;,serif">The participants gathered at the school where they received their NIT kits. The group was subsequently flagged off by the principal, Army officials and members of Sikkim Vir Gorkha Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Garamond&quot;,serif">On October 2, the group will fly from Bagdogra to Bengaluru, where they will interact with the Commandant of the ASC Centre &amp; College. They will also visit Bengaluru Palace Museum, Wipro Sarjapur and IIT Bengaluru.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Garamond&quot;,serif">On October 3, the students will travel to Mysuru, where they are scheduled to visit Chamundeshwari Temple, Infosys Global Education Centre and the Software Technology Park of India (STPI).
