Prof. Santanu K. Swain chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the
readiness of physical and digital infrastructure ahead of the university’s
transition from Gangtok to its permanent campus at Yangang.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Bookman Old Style","serif";
mso-ansi-language:EN-US">The meeting reviewed the progress of infrastructure
development and building handover, IT and network connectivity, Wi-Fi systems,
CCTV surveillance and the operational status of BSNL mobile towers, the university
said.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Bookman Old Style","serif";
mso-ansi-language:EN-US">The registrar, director, university engineer and
officials of system management attended the meeting, along with representatives
of Cemindia, the authority engineer, BSNL, EMERGY Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai, and the Department
of Telecommunications, New Delhi.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Bookman Old Style","serif";
mso-ansi-language:EN-US">The discussions focused on the deployment and
functionality of core IT and network infrastructure, connectivity and technical
support systems, maintenance requirements, and operational challenges that
could affect the campus transition.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Bookman Old Style","serif";
mso-ansi-language:EN-US">Following the meeting, Swain inspected the hostels,
residential quarters and other campus infrastructure. He directed the agencies,
contractors and engineers concerned to expedite pending works and ensure their
completion and handover within the stipulated timeframe.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p>
