<p class="MsoNoSpacing"><b>GYALSHING, (IPR):</b><span style="font-family:"Bookman Old Style",serif"> The final preparatory meeting for the upcoming annual Bhumchu ceremony was conducted today at Tashiding Monastery. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:"Bookman Old Style",serif">The meeting was attended by Gyalshing DC Tenzing D. Denzongpa, Gyalshing SP Tshering Sherpa, 72nd Battilion SSB deputy commandant Megnath Routh, chief medical officer Dr. Namgay Bhutia, Yuksam SDM C.S. Limboo, Chongrang BDO Geeta Gurung, Kongri-Labdang zilla member Biren Gurung, Powe JE Namgyal Bhutia, PHE JE Bhanu Chettri, Chogyal Lhakhang Ward panchayat Gyatso Bhutia, Gyalshing Fire & Emergency Services officer-in-charge, monks of Tashiding Monastery, health workers of Tashiding PHC and other stakeholders.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:"Bookman Old Style",serif">The primary objective of the meeting and site visit was to assess the final stages of preparation for the Bhumchu festival, which is scheduled for March 2-3.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:"Bookman Old Style",serif">District collector Tenzing D. Denzongpa, in his address, called for full cooperation from all officials and organisers. He conducted a comprehensive review of essential arrangements, including electricity, water supply, medical and fire response teams, the public address system, traffic control, crowd management, coupon issuance for devotees, standardized service rates for visitors, waste disposal, and sanitation.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:"Bookman Old Style",serif">Earlier, concerned ward panchayat Gyatso Bhutia briefed the district collector and SP on the progress made following the directives of the initial preparatory meeting. He provided updates on measures taken for traffic and parking management, water and electricity supply, shuttle services, availability of makeshift tents, and other necessary facilities for devotees. Expressing gratitude on behalf of the monastery, he acknowledged the support of district officials in facilitating a smooth and well-organised festival.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:"Bookman Old Style",serif">Following the meeting, the team conducted a thorough inspection of the festival site. All arrangements were reviewed, and clear instructions were issued to expedite final preparations, ensuring that no aspect was overlooked in the lead-up to the festival.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p> </p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:"Bookman Old Style",serif">Later, the district collector and team also visited Tashiding government senior secondary school and boys’ hostel where minor damages were caused by the earthquake today. The district collector assured the school faculty of requisite support from the district administration if any severe damages are caused due to the frequent earthquake.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
