BJP to win 170-180 seats in Bengal: Bista

He said the first phase of polling recorded turnout exceeding 92 per cent and asserted that out of 152 seats, around 110 are expected to go in favour of the BJP.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Bookman Old Style&quot;,serif">He attributed the projected support to issues such as corruption, lack of employment opportunities leading to migration of youth, and what he described as long-standing grievances under previous regimes. He also pointed to demographic concerns in the border State as a factor influencing voters.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Bookman Old Style&quot;,serif">Bista further reiterated that a permanent political solution for Darjeeling and the Dooars is expected by 2026, adding that any such resolution would be within the framework of the Constitution of India.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:&quot;Bookman Old Style&quot;,serif">Turning to Sikkim, Bista described the Prime Minister’s upcoming visit as “historic,” stating that it coincides with celebrations marking five decades of Sikkim’s Statehood.
