<p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:"Georgia",serif"><b>GANGTOK,:</b> Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Sikkim, Indra Hang Subba, called on
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at Rail Bhawan, New Delhi, on the
evening of June 18 and discussed the status of ongoing and proposed railway
projects in the State.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:"Georgia",serif">During the
meeting, the Lok Sabha MP expressed his gratitude to the Government of India
and the Ministry of Railways for their sustained efforts towards expanding
railway connectivity in Sikkim. He noted that the railway projects being
undertaken in the State represent a historic milestone and would significantly
contribute to economic growth, tourism, trade, and regional connectivity, a
press release informs.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:"Georgia",serif">Indra Hang
highlighted the importance of the proposed Rangpo-Ranipool railway project and
requested the Railway Minister to expedite the necessary processes for its
implementation. He emphasized that extending the railway network beyond Rangpo
to Ranipool would bring the benefits of rail connectivity closer to the State
capital region and further strengthen transportation infrastructure in Sikkim.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:"Georgia",serif">He also urged
the Minister to facilitate the early completion of the Final Location Survey
(FLS) for the proposed Melli-Dentam railway line. He stated that the project
has the potential to transform connectivity in West Sikkim and unlock new
opportunities for economic development, tourism, and public mobility.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:"Georgia",serif">The Railway
Minister gave a patient hearing to the issues raised and assured that the
concerns would be examined. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span style="font-family:"Georgia",serif">Indra Hang
expressed confidence that the Ministry of Railways would continue to support
the expansion of railway infrastructure in Sikkim and help realize the long-standing
