S. Rathore, paid a courtesy call on Governor Om Prakash Mathur at Lok Bhavan today.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family: "Bookman Old Style","serif"">During the courtesy meeting, the GOCinformed the Governor about various development and tourism related projects being undertaken by the Indian Army in coordination with State government and other agency. He mentioned that various development and tourism initiatives are being carried by Indian Army under the guidance of the Governor. The tourism initiatives include Prerna Sthal, General Sagat Singh Memorial, Nathula-Chola tourist destination, development of Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple, and initiatives mainly designed to promote border tourism, enhance infrastructure, and honour the legacy of the Indian Army, informs a press release.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family: "Bookman Old Style","serif"">Major General Rathore also apprised the Governor that Sikkim experienced a massive surge of visitors during the month of December 2025 and January of this year which has boosted the State’s economy. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p> </p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span lang="EN-IN" style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family: "Bookman Old Style","serif"">In response, the Governor appreciated the efforts of the Indian Army in supporting developmental initiatives and promoting border tourism in the State.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
