Prashant Ezekiel Rai to release his music video ‘Bagaicha’ on Feb 15

<p><b>GANGTOK,: </b>Darjeeling’s singer-songwriter Prashant Ezekiel Rai, best known for his widely acclaimed song ‘Ko Hau Timi,’ which crossed 19 million views on YouTube, is set to release his first single of the year, ‘Bagaicha.’ The official music video will premiere on YouTube on February 15 at 7:30 pm IST.</p><p>Produced under the banner of Allarey Pictures, ‘Bagaicha’ brings together accomplished musicians, award-winning technicians, and seasoned performers.</p><p>Written and composed by Rai himself, ‘Bagaicha’ marks a significant new chapter in his musical journey, continuing his emotionally grounded and introspective song writing style that has resonated with audiences across regions.</p><p>Classically trained, Prashant began learning the violin at the age of five and holds Grade eight in violin from Trinity College London and Grade 5 in piano from ABRSM, reflecting a strong foundation in Western classical music.</p><p>Rai began his journey as a singer-songwriter in 2019 with his debut single, ‘Halka Risayera.’ Since then, he has released 18 original songs, several of which have gained widespread popularity, including ‘Ko Hau Timi,’ ‘Antarikshya Ko Sawaari,’ ‘Huri Chalyo,’ ‘Taado,’ and ‘Hami Dui.’</p><p>‘Bagaicha’ is his 19th release and the first single of 2026.</p><p>Beyond digital platforms, Rai has also established a strong live performance presence, performing across Nepal, London, Australia, Darjeeling, Assam, Gangtok, and Kalimpong.</p><p>The music video for ‘Bagaicha’ brings together an experienced creative team. The screenplay and direction are by Sujan Lamjel, marking his debut as a music-video screenplay writer and director.</p><p>Lamjel brings extensive industry experience, having worked on over fifteen advertisements for leading brands such as Dettol, Aashirvaad Salt, Red Label, Aquaguard, Federal Bank, ICICI Lombard, Nycil, and Aditya Birla’s Jump for Health. His short film ‘In the Shadow of the Bamboo Basket’ is currently touring the international film festival circuit, earning recognition for its sensitive storytelling. He has also served as chief assistant director on eight feature films, with his recent work including ‘Eh Sathi’ by Bipul Chettri, contributing valuable on-ground production experience to the project.</p><p>Cinematography is handled by Nihal Bhandari, a National Award–winning cinematographer for the short film ‘Xunyota.’ Bhandari’s recent work includes ‘Maharani’ by Wangden Sherpa and ‘Mero Hajuro’ by Swoopna Suman. Neden Yolmo leads Production Design, with Shivanni Pradhan heading Costume Design. The direction team is supported by Keshab Ghimirey as Director’s Assistant and Ashna Gurung as Second Assistant Director, while Elvin Thapa serves as Production Assistant, forming a well-coordinated and experienced team behind the camera.</p><p>The music video features Shymashree Sherpa from Sikkim, a trained actor from the Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Institute, with experience across television, feature films, web series, commercials, and music videos in both Hindi and Nepali cinema. Her work has been showcased at major international festivals, including Busan, San Sebastián, and Cannes. Also appearing is Raju Pradhan ‘Himanshu’ from Kurseong, a prolific Nepali writer and theatre artist with 27 published books and multiple national and international honors, including Best Leading Actor at the PRISMA Festival in Rome. Another notable presence is Raffy Khymsar, also from Kurseong, who has appeared in commercials for brands such as Philips, Vivo, and Nerolac, and has worked as a casting assistant on ‘Dunki,’ with two feature films awaiting release.</p><p>The release is among the most anticipated projects from Prashant Ezekiel Rai following the success of ‘Ko Hau Timi.’ SIKKIM EXPRESS is the official media partner.</p><p><br></p>
