Students’ Welfare Board meet parents, students affected by ASHA Paramedical Institute issue

The discussion focused on rehabilitation, academic continuity, career guidance, and restoring confidence among the affected students and families, informs a press release.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:&quot;Bookman Old Style&quot;,serif; mso-ansi-language:EN-US">Speaking on the occasion, Students’ Welfare Board chairman Sonam Chopel Sherpa reaffirmed the State government’s commitment to stand firmly with the affected students.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:&quot;Bookman Old Style&quot;,serif; mso-ansi-language:EN-US">“The future of our students cannot be left uncertain. Ensuring their welfare, dignity, and academic journey is our fundamental duty. Today’s interaction was not just a meeting, but a counselling and support session where we listened to the concerns of students and parents, understood their interests, aspirations, passions, and career goals, and discussed ways to guide them forward,” said Sherpa.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:&quot;Bookman Old Style&quot;,serif; mso-ansi-language:EN-US">He further stated that necessary measures are being explored to facilitate the admission of affected students into suitable higher educational institutions based on their interests, academic background, and future aspirations.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:&quot;Bookman Old Style&quot;,serif; mso-ansi-language:EN-US">“Although the matter is currently sub judice before the competent court at Siliguri, the State Government is taking every possible step to ensure that the education and career prospects of these students are not affected by the circumstances. Under the guidance of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, this matter is being treated with utmost priority,” he added.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNoSpacing"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-family:&quot;Bookman Old Style&quot;,serif; mso-ansi-language:EN-US">“Around 60 students from across Sikkim have reportedly been affected by the issue involving ASHA Paramedical Institute.
